Please note that the Beacon Wheelers Annual General Meeting is on Tuesday 15th November at 7.30pm, Upstairs Conference Room, The Lounge, King Street, Penrith.
If any member has anything they would like to have discussed and included in the meeting, could they please let me know in writing by Monday 8th November at the latest, so that it can be added to the agenda.
We look forward to seeing and meeting you at the meeting.
Lots have been happening in the last couple of months and some exciting things are happening in the next two months up until Christmas. Here are some dates for your diary:-
7th November 2011
The next kit order will be placed on the 7th November. If anyone wants to order a jersey or any other bit of kit then get your order into Lorraine on this email address as soon as possible. Although the order should be back by Christmas we have been asked by the manufacturers not to guarantee this so please be aware if you wish to order anything for a Christmas present it may not arrive. We now have socks which are plain black with Beacon Wheelers written in yellow around the ankle - ideal stocking filler.
9th November 2011, 6.30pm onwards, Frenchfield Pavilion
We have Tim Buckle from British Cycling coming to talk to members regarding winter training and diet (what you should be eating and when). Tim has suggested that members could bring their rollers/turbo's along and he will go through an example training programme. This is open to all members from those who are competitive to those who enjoy a gentle ride at the weekends. Please let me know however if you intend to bring your rollers as space is limited.
12th November 2011, 10.30am, Salt Ayre, Lancaster
The winter under 18 cluster sessions between Salt Ayre, Beacon Wheelers, Border City Wheelers and Furness Future Flyers will start on this date. These sessions are for riders wanting to increase sprint skills, learn racing tactics and how to race. These can be fast paced sessions so riders will need to be prepared to work hard. Riders should ensure they have the appropriate clothing on for the winter weather and enough food and drink for the session. The sessions will run fortnightly on the follow ing dates: 26/11, 10/12, 07/01/12, 21/01, 04/02, 18/02, 03/03 and 27/03. If it snows or severe cold then the session may be cancelled - check website for details.

We need YOU to vote for us with the NatWest community force grant. The most votes in our area will get the money, so please vote for us.
We are looking for funding that will ensure the Go-Riders can have progression to the grass track by purchasing some small and medium sized track bikes. This means that should we win the funding the 8 -11 year olds are able to move up to the grass tracking and enjoy the racing that many older children and the many adults who have joined us this summer have. It's very exciting for us, so please help.
The procedure for voting is quite lengthy as you must register your email address first but you can then vote three times each, so we are asking you to use all your votes. It only takes time on the first vote as you do not need to re-register every time. The procedure is as follows:
* Log on to the communityforcenatwest.com website
* register your email address and any password you want
* click to activate your account
* go to projects and put in CA11 as a postcode and select a sports project (further down page)
* click to accept terms and conditions and then vote
Its as simple as that - but please please please do this all your three voting allocation.
Any queries just get in touch.
Many thanks for voting!
